Lovin' the Sunshine
After a long weekend with our families, it was finally good to get back to school to see everyone. We found out our host families on Friday and went home with them for the weekend.  All three of us live far away from one another and have very different stories from the weekend.  It was Rachel's birthday on Saturday and her family had the youth group over for a little fiesta and they even gave her a present! She also went to Antigua with her family and spent the day shopping and getting to know her family.  Taylor went to the market with her mom and went to church on Sunday.  After church she went to a restaurant where she ate and then watched futbol on the tv.  I went to another church and then out to eat at a restaurant too, and after I finished eating my mom told me to go watch the futbol game in the other room and when I walked in I saw this girl sitting in a pink dress on the couch.  After a double take I realized it was Taylor! Needless to say it was a good surprise for both of us because by Sunday afternoon we were both feeling a bit like strangers in our families and tired of listening and translating Spanish 24/7.  I think I can speak for everyone when I say that our spanish has already improved immensely and we are starting to understand people around us.  Rachel has two brothers and two sisters and she seems to love her family! Her sister took her to a dance party and  if you know Rachel, that probably made her day.   Taylor has a sister that lives in the house who is 13 and another one who lives somewhere else. I have two sisters, one is 15 months old and the other is 2 1/2.  Let's just say things are never quiet at my house and I have found that it's very hard to understand them when they try to speak Spanish.  The sun is always shining and the weather is PERFECT! We miss you all

  1. Great to hear from the tres amigas! (I don't know if that is even right. ha!) Did your families plan the futbol watching rendezvous or was that coincidental? We eat up the details and live vicariously through you right now. :) Continuing to pray for you! Much Love!
